Royal Holloway University is part of the University of London, so becoming a student of this large college has additional advantages. For example, you can use the magnificent libraries and facilities of other University of London institutions in central London (which include University College London, King’s College London, and the London School of Economics). As well as this, you’ll receive an exclusive and prestigious “University of London Diploma” after graduation, which is respected all over the world!

What do you need to become a student of Royal Holloway?

Necessary qualifications:

  • Foundation Year: Minimum IELTS score of 5.o, completion of secondary schooling with 5 GCSE grades A*-C including maths and English (or equivalent qualification)
  • International Year One: Minimum IELTS score of 5.5, completion of secondary schooling with 5 GCSE grades A*-C including maths and English and 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Undergraduate programme: Minimum IELTS score of 6.5, completion of secondary schooling with 5 GCSE grades A*-C including maths and English, and 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Postgraduate programme: Minimum IELTS score of 6.5, and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
    • If your country’s secondary school qualification is not equivalent to the UK A-Level qualification, you must complete one year of post-secondary study or take a UK Foundation Year. You can check acceptable qualifications here.

Adequate funding:

For the 2020/21 academic year, international tuition fees for a year of undergraduate study start from £17,700, and reach £20,000 or more depending on the programme. Master’s degrees in 2020/21 start from £16,800. Tuition fees increase every year in line with inflation.

But don’t stress – foreign students are highly appreciated at Royal Holloway, so you can win a scholarship to finance your studies! As well as general scholarships such as the International Future Leaders Scholarship, you can win subject-specific awards such as the Physics Scholarship or Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship for Geography!

It was modelled on the famous Chambord Castle in the Loire Valley, France.
